My New York Performing Arts Company Jungle Dom Is An Expression Of My Childhood Day Dreams And Inner Visions.

Today I want to tell you a story about an incredible childhood experience I encountered when I was younger. One day I had a daydream that started out with me, sitting at my school desk, with a piece of paper and a pencil...

I was crafting a story for a school assignment. I remember it was a warm, sunny and a colorful spring day. I started to daydream. In the daydream, it was as if I could see the image of a lion's face, swirling water and the landscape...

of the African jungle on the paper. Imagine the raging rush of adrenalin and heart pounding excitement of being SMACK DAB in front of a lion's face. It was a surreal and mesmerizing encounter. It was one I will never forget.

My heart flutters at the thought of it. I can remember it as if I'm inside the story and it really happened...

I woke up from my daydream that day with a vision and with the sudden need to write it all down and share those vivid imagery moments that felt real with anyone who would listen. I had to share this wonderful thing that happened to me.

This is the beginning of Simba and telling amazing, titillating and elaborate stories. And I have to admit, I found it really tons of fun. Imagine being able to get SO much attention as a young storyteller.

Of course, my family didn't understand my experience and said it was only a child's tale and imagination. Like most people they do not believe except what they can see.

Do you only believe what you can see?

Well my imagination allowed me to daydream and dream and sing and dance and tell of wonderful things. That's the exhilaration, enjoyment and wonder of being a child. You can see and imagine the possibilities of what is and the possibilities of what can be.

Most adults lose this gift and can not see, conceive or imagine all the unseen and unseeable things in the world yet to be or to happen.

Any how...

I carry the inspiration from that day and my story's magic around inside of me. It has becomes part of who I am. I still share that story today. And, in a way, you have now become a part of the story, too.

Jungle Dom is the result. I'm incredibly excited you are here and part of my online Jungle Dom circle of friends. As an adult, I have delighted audiences with my storytelling, singing, dancing and performing artistry. I hope you enjoyed Jungle Dom and it entities.

As a daughter of Africa, I am committed to creating a greater awareness and appreciation of African culture, the performing arts and performing female artists.

I hope that by visiting my Jungle Dom Network blogs and reading my posts you will be afforded a window into one of Africa's daughter's creativity.

The symbolic 'Voice of My Creative Spirit' is the fearless lion... who gives me courage and the inner power not only to visualize but dare to dream and to live the dream.

The symbolic swirling water represents my emotions of love and reverance I have for Africa and all her people. The symbolic jungle is the rich cultural landscape and beauty I see in the world.

Now, I can’t speak for you… but to me, sharing my passion about storytelling and keeping alive the culture of my people... dancing and singing is the best feeling EVER!
